Forensic DNA and DNA technology are the most important tools to provide justice, accuracy, and fairness in the criminal justice system.
Maximizing the potential of this incredible science requires attention and support from policymakers and the public. Through the use of offender DNA databases, we have the ability to not only identify suspects in unsolved crimes but also to correct injustices where citizens have been wrongly accused.
To accomplish these goals, policies must be established to provide for the creation and expansion of offender DNA databases.
It is also imperative that we utilize advanced DNA technology to solve crimes, provide justice, and exonerate the innocent in a timely manner
