Maximizing the potential of this incredible science requires attention and support from policy makers and the public. Through the use of offender DNA databases, we have the ability to not only identify suspects in unsolved crimes, but to correct injustices where citizens have been wrongly accused. To accomplish these goals, policies must be established to provide for the creation and expansion of offender DNA databases.
